end of Q3

so the third quarter draws to a close, with the Dow finished up 3.6% for the quarter, Nasdaq up almost 4% at 3.8% and the S&P holding strong, up 1.5% for the quarter. There was no window-dressing going on, at least for today as the markets sold off going into the weekend and quarter end. With renewed commitment and resolve, the build-up begins once again; 1 quarter and it's the start of 2008.

Happy Friday.

rally cry

huge week on the street, a surprise 50 basis point rate cut prompted a rally that lasted all week long. Stocks that have been running recently pushed higher, many into all-time high territory.

With so much doom & gloom in the economic outlooks and forecasts, the markets sure aren't telling us that.

Happy weekend.

put away the whites

Labor Day has passed and with that the unofficial end to summer. Time to ready one's self for fall. After what possibly could be the most volatile and craziest month of trading in a long time (or ever), what will the markets hold for the 4 months to close out the year? There's a chart going around of how we are setting up for a market crash much like 1987.
